Before Doing Anything Else

The Yogis place kindness as the first and most fundamental duty as a human being.

Kindness matters. It works silently. Somehow, over the years, I've been fortunate to build connections with people from nearly every chapter of my life. When planning my wedding, I faced the bittersweet challenge of creating a guest list. Too many friends. Not enough chairs. I found myself connected to far more people than our budget could possibly allow us to invite. The bonds held strong. I still exchange messages with friends from elementary school, colleagues from past jobs, and roommates from previous homes. They remain. I remain. The connection endures.

This abundance of friendship stems from something simple but powerful. Consistent kindness. Nothing extraordinary. Just genuine smiles and appreciation for each person.

Now, a spontaneous message can spark a gathering. We reconnect effortlessly even after years apart, as if we'd seen each other just last week. The camaraderie remains intact. A treasure I never take for granted and something that continuously fills my life with joy.
