There’s this huge doom-and-gloom sentiment in society right now where people constantly talk about surveillance, AI tracking everyone, governments controlling people, cameras everywhere, and the idea that society is somehow heading toward total darkness. And honestly, while some of those concerns are real to a degree, I think a lot of people become mentally consumed by fear. It turns into this obsession where every technological advancement is automatically interpreted as evidence that humanity is collapsing.
What the yogis say is that the real danger is not only external control, but internal loss of mental sovereignty. The mind becomes shaped by whatever it constantly focuses on. If people spend all day feeding themselves narratives of fear, helplessness, and paranoia, then their consciousness starts reflecting exactly that. Fear itself becomes a kind of prison.
