All the pain, struggles, and challenges you experience are precisely what you need to go through in this life to develop and grow for your ultimate benefit.

If you stand still and reflect on your past life, you will see that certain things have led to other things, and seemingly small events have led to greater ones. You can look back and see how the painful experiences of the past have strengthened you, they have taught you things and they have made you the person you are today.

You can see how a specific event in the past, which appeared cruel and undesirable, turned out to be the very catalyst that led you to something remarkable in the present.

Not too long ago, I experienced the simultaneous loss of my business and a painful breakup. It was an devastating and heart-wrenching period for me. However, if it hadn't been for those unfortunate circumstances, I would not have made the decision to leave my home country and start from scratch in the United States.

The pain I endured compelled me to delve deeper into self-discovery, to explore the essence of life and the meaning behind my struggles. It drew me towards books, mentors, experiences, and individuals who have shaped me into the person I am today. Reflecting on my journey, I am genuinely grateful for having gone through those agonizing experiences, as they were the catalysts for my personal growth.

Naturally, during that time, I was unable to perceive such circumstances in a positive way.

All I needed was the perspective of years.

Remember that Steve Jobs' famous commencement speech at Stanford? He wisely said:

"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.”

If you can understand this concept, you will be able to navigate life more effectively and refrain from perceiving things as unfair or as punishment. Instead, you will recognize them as the outcomes of your own actions or the guidance of your inner self.

No matter what pain or struggle you may be going through, life will not throw at you more than you can handle. “Go with the flow,” as the saying goes.
