Seven wolves circle a lamb. Each one has its teeth sunk into the lamb's white body, gums bared, eyes wild with hunger. There is no blood anywhere in the frame.

The lamb's eyes are closed. Its head rests low and calm, tilted the way a sleeping child's head tilts. Behind it, gold leaf catches the light in a halo, the same gold you'd find ringing a saint's head in a Byzantine icon. Konstantin Korobov painted this in 2022, he called it Agnus, and gave every ounce of violence to the wolves and every ounce of peace to the lamb.
