During the 1970’s a passionate and determined young runner captured the hearts of many as one of the most beloved American college athletes. He was renowned for pushing himself to the limit during training, setting new standards of endurance and speed. His name was Steve ‘Pre’ Prefontaine.

In a memorable race during the NCAA Championships, Pre faced formidable opponents. The crowd watched anxiously as he positioned himself at the front of the pack, setting an unwavering pace from the very beginning. With each stride, he poured his heart and soul into the race, refusing to settle for anything less than his best.

In his memoir, ‘Shoe Dog,’ Nike founder Phil Knight recalls Pre’s mantra was "fast or die”. This epitomized Pre’s relentless pursuit of excellence. He gave it all on the track.
