Love Flows Eternal
The pain of losing a loved one lingers, but their presence manifests in new ways. Because our connections transcend physical existence.
It was supposed to be just another weekend of partying in Chihuahua. The familiar rhythm of pre-drinks at a friend's house, plans for bar-hopping, and the carefree laughter of twenty-somethings with their whole lives ahead of them. That night, our group split up. Jose, one of my best friends, decided to head to the bar. In those days before ride-sharing apps, and with taxis scarce in certain areas, he made the fatal decision to drive.
I got home safely and drifted off to sleep, unaware that our world was about to shatter. At 3 AM, my phone rang. It was another close friend, his voice cracking as he delivered the news that would divide my life into "before" and "after". Jose had crashed. He was gone instantly. At just twenty-two, one of my best friends had left this world, leaving behind a void that seemed impossible to fill.
The weeks that followed were dark. Grief consumed me, raising questions about death that no one seemed able to answer. It wasn't until I encountered the ancient wisdom of the Yogis that I began to find peace.
