I was helping a friend build a pergola. We needed the metal sheets for the roof, the last step, so we drove to an industrial supplier in South Austin.

I noticed scripture the moment we pulled into the gravel lot. Painted on walls, carved into signs, mounted across the property. At first I thought nothing of it. The owner's faith on display. Then, inside the office, I read a couple of verses about fear:

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7)

"Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling" (Psalm 2:11)
