First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in the previous poll. It was undoubtedly the most popular and widely responded-to poll we've had so far. I'm also ever so thankful to all of you who read my daily emails. The topic we explored is somewhat controversial, given the multitude of opinions, beliefs, and upbringings involved. Surprisingly, some people felt offended, and it's not difficult to guess who - the religious fanatics.
I want to clarify that when I use the term 'fanatic,' I'm not referring to the common religious follower. My own family is very religious and attend church regularly. But they are not fanatics; they respect others' opinions and beliefs. The term 'fanatic' refers to those who adamantly dismiss any idea, teaching, or thought that deviates even slightly from their particular creed.
The purpose of these polls is not to spark arguments but rather to get to know each of you better. I genuinely enjoy reading your diverse perspectives, as they provide valuable material for future writings. The goal is to engage in respectful conversations about our varying or similar beliefs.
I've never attacked or offended any religion. If you review my previous 170+ posts, you'll see that I am careful and respectful with my words. The Yogis are known for their tolerance and their ability to find goodness in every creed, religion, philosophy, or belief system because they understand that everyone is shaped by their unique environments and experiences. We're all doing our best.
In these emails, I'm merely sharing the teachings of the Yogis as I've learned them, in the hope of expanding your perspective on life. Some of these teachings may resonate with you, while others may not, and that's perfectly okay. There's no need to respond with anger or condescension because that only makes you look childish. Jesus wouldn’t be proud of such behavior, would he?
We must cultivate tolerance and respect for those with different beliefs. If you're a Buddhist, don't condemn atheists. If you're a Christian, don't condemn Muslims. If you're an atheist, don't condemn spiritual individuals. Imagine the harmony we could achieve if we all practiced this. The world would be free from continuous conflicts.
No one is inferior, no one is "your child," no one is "lost," no one is a "sinner," and no one is "filthy rags" just because their conception of God and reality differ from yours. Be tolerant of others' perspectives, and be kind to those who hold opposing beliefs. Everyone is on their unique path, doing their best. Let's allow them to be themselves and to believe what makes sense to them.
