The Mind Must Be Opened Like a Door

The key is silence.

At first glance, silence doesn’t seem like much of a key.

It makes no sound. It doesn’t push. It doesn’t pry. But as Yogi Ramacharaka taught more than a century ago, it unlocks something far greater than any spoken word can reach.

“The mind must be opened like a door,” he wrote. “And the key is silence.”

We often think the mind is where we think. But more often, it’s where we echo. The past. The news. That offhand comment from last week. Thoughts stack like clutter in a locked room. No light. No air. Just the same worn ideas circulating in a sealed space.

Silence cracks the window.
