
Observe any healthy man or woman, and watch them closely. See what they do, what they don’t do. See what they consume, and what they avoid consuming. You'll notice that healthy people tend to follow a set of specific practices and avoid certain things that could harm their bodies.
The Yogis believe the body is our instrument with which to work. A fitting temple for our spirit. They believe that which keeps a healthy person healthy will make an unhealthy person healthy.
“Hatha Yoga” is the branch of the Yogi Science that focuses on the care, well-being, health, and strength of the physical body. It teaches a natural and simple way of living that keeps the body in its natural and normal state of health.
You may have heard or seen this word before. Many yoga studios use the term to describe a type of practice with 74 different complicated postures designed to exercise the body. However, for the Yogis, “Hatha Yoga” means much more than just a physical practice.
In our modern world, we are constantly bombarded with complex ideas and solutions to keep our bodies healthy and avoid disease. The more sophisticated, sensational and expensive, the more it appeals to the Western mind.
But the Yogis have known for centuries that the body needs simple instructions that can be followed by anyone. They advocate for a return to natural methods of living instead of relying on artificial habits that are so common in modern times.
“Hatha Yoga” preaches a sane, natural, simple, and normal way of living life, which, if followed, will benefit anyone.
Whenever you are confronted with a choice of methods, plans, and theories, you should always ask yourself, "Which is the natural way?" and choose the method that seems to conform closest to nature. Including the ideas that will follow on this podcast. If they do not conform to nature, discard them. Nature knows what it is about- she is your friend and not your enemy.
