Don’t Judge Others’ Perspectives

Everyone is doing their best based on their unique circumstances. Allow them to believe whatever they want to believe. And you? You believe in anything you want, just make sure those beliefs are not limiting you. Make sure they are making you grow.

We are shaped by the beliefs of our parents, our family, our friends, social media, school, TV shows, books, the city we live in, and many other things. The human race is like a melting pot of different ideas and inclinations. Each of us is unique. Each of us sees things from a different perspective. Each of us is walking a separate path at our own pace.

Just because you have certain beliefs doesn't mean you should impose those beliefs on others. You shouldn't try to convert people to your way of thinking. You have enough work to do on yourself; you have no time to waste focusing on others. True wisdom lies in accepting and respecting everyone, even those who disagree with you.

Be like Abraham Lincoln, who said:

“I care not a whit for a man’s religion unless his dog is the better for it.”

What he meant is that he didn't care about the religious beliefs of anyone as long as they treated their dog with love, as long as those beliefs inspired them to be a good human being.

Don’t be that person who condemns or excludes people who practice another religion. Don’t be the one who makes fun of religious people. Don’t judge people just because they support the opposite political party.

Everyone is doing their best based on their unique circumstances. Allow them to believe whatever they want to believe. And you? You believe in anything you want, just make sure those beliefs are not limiting you. Make sure they are making you grow. Make sure they don’t motivate you to disrespect or harm others or to strip them of their rights. Make sure they are helping you become the best version of yourself.
