Keep Your Intellect In Check

Share your knowledge generously, but do so with the intent to empower others rather than to showcase your superiority. Keep your intellect in check and always remain humble.

Along with knowledge comes the subtle companion of pride. As your intellect unfolds and develops, so too can the temptation to feel superior to others. Beware.

Beware of that insidious pride, the kind that sneaks in unnoticed, regardless of how "in control" you believe you are. It will come back time and time again as you advance through life. It will cause you to look down on others. It will make you think you are cut from a “different cloth.” No matter the depth of your intellect, this subtle pride can bite back when least expected, threatening the very humility that fosters true wisdom.

In the pursuit of knowledge, remember that intellect is a tool, not a pedestal. The moment you start looking down on others for their lack of understanding or different perspectives, you are taking a step back in your unfoldment. And life will make you take the “humility lesson” again, one way or another.

We’ve all met those people, the ones whose arrogance makes them annoying and hard to be around. Whose pride makes them stand out, and not in a good way. You don’t want to be like that.

Instead of focusing solely on your achievements, take time to celebrate the accomplishments and insights of those around you. Lift others up as you climb the ladder of intellect.

Cultivate a mindset of continuous learning. There is always more to discover, and wisdom can be found in unexpected places. You never stop learning, and there are people who know much more than you do. Every person you encounter is a potential source of insight, everyone a potential teacher.

Share your knowledge generously, but do so with the intent to empower others rather than to showcase your superiority. Keep your intellect in check and always remain humble.
