Make The Most of Each Moment
Plan your life. Anticipate. Be disciplined and organized. Definitively be intentional in what you do. But also, do not get attached to how you expect things to happen. Give life a little bit of wiggle room. Be okay with changes to your plans. Adapt.
Thousands of people excited, planning, and eager to visit Austin, Texas, hoping for a clear sky and an uninterrupted view to witness this magnificent event: the Solar Eclipse.
And then what happens?
On the day of the eclipse, it gets cloudy. I couldn’t help but think about all the people who planned this trip for months, only to have some clouds ruin the party, demonstrating, as ever, that the weather just is. It is going to happen as it happens regardless of your attitude towards it. It doesn’t care about your plans. Nature just is. Impartial. It just happens. And you can’t do anything about it.
The best thing you can do? Embrace each day as it comes.
My wife and I sat in our backyard. We were able to see the totality for about 7 seconds, through a small opening in the passing clouds. And it was amazing. In fact, when the clouds were thin enough that we could see through them, it made the event even more mystical and beautiful. Instead of being disappointed, we were grateful it was cloudy.
And this not only happens with the weather, but with many things in life. You live in a vast world with lots of people and nature and other beings. Everyone and everything doing its thing.
Plan your life. Anticipate. Be disciplined and organized. Definitively be intentional in what you do. But also, do not get attached to how you expect things to happen. Give life a little bit of wiggle room. Be okay with changes to your plans. Adapt.
Rain or shine. Hot or cold. Train your mind to accept the way things happen and make the most of each moment.
Did you see the Solar Eclipse or have you seen one before? |
