Let Your Soul Gravitate To The Love
We are manifestations of that; you and I are brothers, sisters. And we are evolving, learning, experiencing life, each at our own pace. Yes, we can look and talk and behave differently. Yes, we can disagree in many topics. Yes, we can perceive life in opposite ways. But deep within us, lies the same tender, kind and loving light. Treat every fellow human with kindness.
'Most of us only care about money-makin'
Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Yo, whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?
Instead of spreading love, we spreading animosity
Lack of understanding leading us away from unity’
In 2003, The Black Eyed Peas released the song ‘Where is the Love?’, inspired by the collective anxiety following the September 11 attacks. The lyrics require little to no explanation as they address issues including terrorism, racism, gang crime, pollution, war, intolerance, and violence against the LGBTQ community.
And now, more than 20 years later, they are as accurate as ever. They reflect current worldly affairs. We are still battling with the same issues and a general sense of separateness that permeates the world.
Lack of understanding is what causes hate. Lack of understanding that our bodies don't define who we are. They are just the vehicles we use to experience life.
Lack of understanding that despite skin color, body shape, social status, religious beliefs, political sides, or sexual orientation; we all share a universal essence. We all belong to the same race, the human race.
'But if you only have love for your own race,
then you only leave space to discriminate,
and to discriminate only generates hate.'
As the Yogi philosophy teaches, we are manifestations of that; you and I are brothers, sisters.
'Love thy neighbor as thyself,' the great master Jesus once preached. Everyone has something valuable to contribute if given a chance. Everyone is doing their best, given the circumstances they find themselves in. Each one playing their part in the world. Let them be.
This year is bound to be one of massive change in positions of power worldwide. Upcoming elections in many countries. Whatever happens, accept all living beings. Whatever happens, be kind with those around you. Whatever happens, don’t complain and let things unfold as they are meant to unfold.
'You gotta have love just to set it straight.
Take control of your mind and meditate.
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all.'
