It was one of those billboards showing an image of how apes turn into humans and then crossed out, saying, "We all come from God." A message from the church rejecting the theory of evolution.

Why? Why reject something as natural as evolution?

The Yogis respect natural laws and believe that we are indeed part of an evolutionary process. They don’t believe in a god, as if it were an outside being playing with his universe that magically decided: "Oh, I'm gonna create a human form now.”

No. From it, microorganisms emanated, and then those, in turn, evolved over millions and millions of years to be what we are today—humans, the highest manifestation of life on this planet.

So, part of what the church is saying there is true; we did come from that. But not magically; it was step by step. Following the natural process of evolution.

The Yogi philosophy was founded on reason. It encourages all thinking beings to use their intellect. To reason, to question, to ponder on things, and then form conclusions.

The church thinks that they have to discredit the theory of evolution to give more importance to Jesus or God. But they are mistaken. In fact, they lose followers because of such beliefs. If they respected natural and universal laws, they would be even stronger.

Everything and every human is an emanation of that, or you can call it whatever you please: God, Jesus, universe, matter, force, spirit, substance, Krishna, Ala, the Absolute, Zeus, nature, or anything that helps your mind understand it.

That is devoid of the attributes of personality. But us humans tend to either give it a personality or deny it altogether because our minds struggle to grasp the idea.

In the vastness and diversity of the planet, we encounter contradictory perspectives, such as the clash between the church's rejection of evolution and the scientific community’s rejection of a higher power. The Yogis reject none.

As you reflect on our origin, acknowledge the beauty in the coexistence of these ideas. The Yogis urge you to reason and question, recognizing the intricate dance of evolution that has shaped us into the pinnacle of life on Earth.

Perhaps the essence lies in finding harmony between spiritual beliefs and scientific theories, understanding that both contribute to the richness of human experience.

If you have found value in the Daily Yogi emails, can you briefly share why?
