Actions Speak Louder Than Words

What truly matters are your actions, not just words. Be an example to follow. Apply what you learn to your life. Embody your philosophy.

"A man of words and not of deeds is like a garden full of weeds."

John D. Rockefeller

What truly matters are your actions, not just words. Be an example to follow. Apply what you learn to your life. Embody your philosophy.

Instead of merely discussing the virtues of empathy, strive to understand others' perspectives and extend a helping hand whenever possible. Rather than just talking about the importance of mindfulness, integrate moments of reflection into your daily routine. Practice being present in each moment, appreciating the simple joys of life, and finding peace amidst the chaos.

The Yogi philosophy is meant to be practical. It’s meant to be learned and applied to your life. And you don’t even need to proclaim yourself as being a yogi; you just need to work on yourself—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

As Paramahansa Yogananda pointed out, “There are a number of great people living today in American, European, or other non-Hindu bodies who, though they may never have heard the word 'yogi,' are true examples of this term. Through their disinterested service to mankind, or through their mastery over passions and thoughts, or through their great powers of concentration, they are, in a sense, yogis.”

It's easy for you to speak about ideals, but, as the saying goes, “Actions speak louder than words.”

Don’t just talk about kindness, but be kind. Don’t just talk about doing the best you can, but give it your all in everything you do. Don’t just talk about respecting others' beliefs and behavior, but stop judging their every move. Let them be.

Don’t just recognize we are more than our bodies, but stop putting so much importance on physical appearances. Don’t just talk about a higher power being the architect of the world, but actually feel it as a part of everything and everyone around you. Love life.

Be good. Do good. Let your actions do the talking.
